Having themselves spent many years buying and selling antiques, John Calgie and his friends decided that anyone in search of real antiques first had the problem of locating the dealers who knew their job. Dealers, who had been through the mill and learnt their trade, and knew how to recognise the genuine article.

So John opened Jubilee Hall Antiques on January 4th 1997 with the help of Mandy Barnes and other close friends. It was to become an oasis for everyone who wanted a reproduction free quality antiques centre. For sellers and buyers alike who were tired of wasting their time on antiques that never were, or still described as something that they could never be again!

A written code of practice was introduced from the outset, requiring datelines and labelling standards to be strictly followed, and it has been the foundation stone of the business ever since. And by careful selection the centre has put together one of the most experienced and conscientious groups of dealers ever to work together in one building.

|
Just as quality came before rent so did space. You may be surprised just how spacious it all is. We like space ourselves, and we think people should be able to stand back and view comfortably, and picture how it might look in their home or showroom. So broad walkways and open displays are the norm throughout the centre. Oh, and it is all on one floor too!
